SPORT.TV has shut down its 4K UHD channel. It was available on NOS, MEO and Vodafone.

Starting January, TVE Internacional and Canal 24 Horas will start HD broadcasts to Europe. The HD versions might come to MEO here.
They will also be HbbTV channels, however its usage is pretty limited (borderline nothing) on countries that haven't adopted it.

Isn't it a joy when long-lost footage of television channels that we have been searching for ages now is found? Television New Zealand's YouTube channel has uploaded the later version of South Pacific Television version of the Goodnight Kiwi closedown video. The off-air recording also includes a closedown announcement influenced by British channels of the time.

Bolivia TV has suspended its operations for an indefinite period of time (commercial channels are still on air) following the resignation of Evo Morales. "Bolivia TV was forced its daily broadcasts following the threat of taking over its premises. To our national and international audience, we thank you for all the support given." Bolivia TV has been on air for 50 years and was always seen as a tool of the government rather than a proper public television channel, unlike countries like Peru and Colombia.

RTP 2 will air the final of the U20 World Cup late at night on delay. The entire event has been shown on RTP Play Desporto, where the final will air live. This arrangement reminds me of Mediacorp and its now shutdown Okto channel

A Portuguese blog named Grelha TV has been uploading false information on its comment section, saying that, among ither things, Nickelodeon joined MEO and Vodafone. However he went too far and made up nonsensical channels. These were removed by the administrator.

The Australian/British television host and poet Clive James died today at the age of 80.
He was born in Kogarah (NSW) in 1939. He had been living in the UK since 1962.
He was famous for his television programs on the BBC in the 60s to 1982, when he switched over to ITV to front the video anthology series Clive James on Television for most of the 80s. Notorious among the videos shown were excerpts of Endurance, a Japanese game show where contestants had to do odd tasks.
Clive James' Postcard From, a travel series, moved to the BBC in 1989. Aside from his television work, he was also a regular voice on BBC Radio 4.
In the past ten years, he has witnessed successive health failures due to his drinking habits, showing, among others, a kidney failure in 2010.

SIC will premiere a Portugurse adaptation of Korean format The Masked Singer in a couple of months. The success of the Korean version led to an American one on FOX.
