The series premiered on A1 Macedonia in 2002, it was made to educate kids about Macedonia and to teach tolerance, equality and a healthy relationship with humans while also having comedy and drama.
Season 2 premiered in 2006 on A1 Macedonia being animated by Beta Film and A1 starting to distribute the show in other countries.
Season 3 premiered in 2009 with the first half being animated by Beta Film and in the second half being animated by Banijay. This season was a lot darker with Eshtash being exposed to propaganda and the last hope was leaving Macedonia at the end, it was made during the time that A1 shut down and to announce the end of the channel.
The series seemed cancelled after 2011 and the international licenses were blocked by Banijay for Season 3 in 2013. Merchandising stopped after 2014 completely by Lotto and etc.
When A1on started, they were planning a fourth season with a happy conclusion after the dark and sad season 3 final.
Banijay produced a fourth season which was aired on A1on later in Macedonia, the international licenses were unblocked and the show was being sold again.
A1on filled for bankrupty in 2019 and was unable to pay for another season, because of this they sold the show with all of the assets to Sitel Televizija.
Sitel ordered a fifth season in early 2019 which was also going to be animated by Banijay. This season focused more on Eshtash at her age of 14 and her growing up and was less patriotic about FYROM, so the show would appeal to more countries.
Sitel ordered a sixth season a few weeks later which premiered on 04. March 2019, now being animated by Banijay and Digital Motion.
Sitel ordered a seventh season on 22. March 2019, to be aired in summer 2019.
Sitel ordered a eight season on 31. April 2019, now with co-production from Sony Entertainment to be aired in Autumn 2019.
HBOGO signed a deal with Sitel and now S8 exclusively premiered on HBOGO first, two months before Sitel did.
A feature film to the series was announced near the end of S8, and was scheduled to be released in 2020.
HBOGO announced S9 to premiere in Winter 2019.

International versions:
First Italian dub:
The show was first distributed to Italy, in 2002. The show began airing on JTV in 2002 and aired until the end of the channel. Only the first season was dubbed, due to the ratings of the show in Italy at that time. The intro and ending credits were instrumental. The dub wasn't aired again after 2003 and disappeared. Until 2005, where Rai wanted to cash-in on the success of Eshtash on the new Italian dub on Italia 1. Rai ordered an Italian dub for the "Eshtash in Hollywood" episodes by the same studio, who did the JTV dub. The episodes were aired as a 60min movie on Rai 2, later that year. The "movie" still occasionally airs on Rai Gulp from time to time.
Home video release: Only two episodes from S1 were released on VHS in 2002.
Name changes:
Eshtash - Erely (JTV) / Emily (Rai) Mertcan - Merdo (JTV) / Miltzan (Rai) Belma - Bila (JTV) / Bina (Rai) Andjelika - Angelica (JTV) / Angela (Rai)

Eshtash describes herself as "100% Macedonian" and was shown to be very patriotic in the earlier seasons. Her patrioticness was toned down, when the show returned from it's grave. He is Muslim and starts to be more religious during the later part of the show, when his Mom divorces from his father. Eshtash always tries to defend Andjelika whenever something happens. Andjelika is revealed to have severe anger issues in S5 and works with her friends to improve them. Andjelika fought with Mertcan, as soon as he ended their friendship and was able to ruin his reputation a bit.

Most successful dub: Estefania Imaginary (Greek dub) Estefania Imaginary started airing 2003 on TV 0-6 and has spawned a lot of merchandise and success. The dub is currently at the beginning of S9 and already heavily announced the finale on SMILE Greece. The dub was announced on A1's website in 2003. The show premiered on TV 0-6 in 2003 with buying the rights directly from A1, it was a bit known and mostly had positive reactions, a few episodes of season 1 remained unaired due to the nature of the episodes. The dub had very old equipment and was rendered with Windows 2000 and put on VHS. In 2007, Season 2 premiered on TV 0-6 with improved dubbing, high tech equipment and more localization, this time every episode was aired and the dub was given a new intro with the original instrumental instead of the remade one from Season 1. Some scenes were cut due to content but mostly the episodes stayed uncut. In 2010, season 3 premiered on TV 0-6 with only broadcasting 70 out of 86 episodes, all episodes were dubbed but the final episodes were not aired because the episodes were reviewed by psycologists stating "The episodes could not be broadcast without inciting child trauma and controversy, the episodes are about Macedonia‘s politics and very frightening content and has nothing to do with Greece, so the episodes will not be broadcast. Editing these episodes to omit every sign of politic or Macedonia is quite hard and is impossible without creating a huge plothole". Eshtash stopped airing in Greece after 2012, because of the Macedonian Gouvernement quietly banning the show from airing and selling merchandise. The show was also removed from TV 0-6's website in early 2013. In 2019, SMILE premiered season 4 with a mostly new cast and new edits renaming Macedonia to "FYROM". Season 2-3 also started reairing on Smile with only a handful of episodes being aired. Promos for the shows return had clips from the season 3 final, it is unknown if SMILE will air the unaired episodes in the future. The reason why Season 1 is omitted from being broadcast is that the VHS tapes were heavily damaged and had a lot of sound errors. Season 5 premiered in March 2019 on SMILE. Censorship: A few scenes were edited in international dubs, mainly in the Greek one. Most mentions of Macedonia were omitted from the Greek dub and replaced sentences like; "In Macedonia it says.." / "In this country it says..". Sometimes the show would make remarks on how Eshtash thinks that Macedonia is the best country and the Greek dub would just mute the audio. Theme songs: Φαντασία Εστεφανια (Estefania's Fantasy) – Theme Song (Season 1) performed by Antonis Remos Dubbing studios: MAP Productions (Season 1) Sierra Recordings SA (Season 2-3) Kryazis Studio (Season 4-6)

First English dub:
The first English dub was produced by JBI Studios and aired on ABS-CBN in the Philippines during 2005. The dub only lasted for 60 episodes for unknown reasons and stopped airing in 2006. The dub was titled "Emma's Imagination" and had some cut scenes, only some footage can be found online. The dub had some Macedonian actors but mostly had a British cast. There were plans for the dub airing on Pop Girl in 2006, but those plans were scrapped.
Voice actors:
Simona Mitretska - Eshtash

Second English dub:
The second English dub premiered on DVD in 2008. Not much is known about that dub, expect that 4 episodes were dubbed as a second audio option on Macedonian DVDs.

Third English dub:
Ever since Banijay got the license for Eshtash, they have been planning to do releases for the show worldwide. Banijay sold the show to Turner Asia and ordered an English dub from BangZoom! Entertainment under the title "Let's have imagination" The dub first aired on CN Philippines in 2009 and still airs to this day. The dub has also been used as a base for several international dubs.

In every episode, Eshtash faces a problem that can be solved with the help of her friends and alone too. Eshtash also breaks the fourth wall in every episode of S1-S3, where she educates the viewers a little something about Macedonia. There's also a song at the end of every episode in S1-S3. The plot in S4-S9, rather revolves around the main characters' life and problems with moral lessons at the end of very ep.

In 2006, Elastic Rights acquired Eshtash and wanted to distribute it in Iberia. The show has premiered on RTP2 (Portugal) and Clan TVE (Spain) during 2008 and aired throughout the whole year. Due to low popularity and RTP thinking the show was "too complex" for their channel, Elastic Rights did not acquire the third season and did not renew the rights for the show after 2008. In 2009, TVE acquired the rights to Eshtash themselves and began airing a dubbed version of S3 the same year. Also in 2009, Sic acquired the rights to the show and redubbed season 2 and a dubbed version of season 3 on Sic K. Sic K has never aired the final 20 episodes of Eshtash for unknown reasons and stopped airing the show in 2010. While, all 201 episodes aired on Clan TVE during 2007-2010.
