Hello! RandomMe asked me to make an anime thread so here I am. I have no idea what I should write down but I'm trying my best.
Today I'm gonna be showing you my most favorite anime, with my most favorite anime character, the series is called Toradora!. No spoilers here, and this is basically a praise thread. I'll put more insight when I make a full review.
Anime: Toradora!
Genre: Romance comedy, slice of life, drama, school
Rating: TV-14 (for coarse language and mature themes)
Original creator: Yuyuko Takemiya
Source: Light novel
Studio: J.C. Staff
Network: TV Tokyo
Licensors: Hanabee (Australia), AniMoon (Germany), NIS America (North America), MVM Films (United Kingdom), DEX (Thailand)
Well, I actually saw this for the first time since I was 6. It was aired here in Thailand on a kids network called True Spark, which is available on TrueVisions in 2011. I didn't remember anything other than its visuals, though. However, I decided to give it a watch last year during December, and I totally fell in love with it!
The story revolves around a typical agressive tsundere, Aisaka Taiga, and a scary-looking boy, Takasu Ryuuji helping each other to get together with their crushes, which are apparently their best friends. Taiga has a crush on Kitamura, who is Ryuuji's best friend. Ryuuji has a crush on Minori, who is Taiga's best friend. And in later episodes, a new character is introduced, Kawashima Ami, a good-looking girl with a mask that covers her true identity.
The setup may seem really cliché just like another school anime (pool episode, cultural festival, etc.) but you'll probably enjoy it!
In the beginning, it was just nothing much but a typical slice of life, but the story expands later on with more serious themes and stuff. They managed the story well unlike many romance anime which failed to do so.
You gotta feel their chemistry between the two main protagonists a lot, it is undeniable. The soundtrack isn't something much memorable but "Lost in Pieces" is really emotional and nice. (I recommend you to watch the whole series before listening to it.) The animation and art is pretty much on standard level a TV anime series should have. Voice acting is incredible, they even got Kugimiya Rie, the queen of tsunderes to voice Taiga!
You may dislike the show at first because of Taiga's behavior and attitude, but you'll start loving her more, actually she's really a nice and sweet girl who really loves and cares for her friends. I don't wanna tell anything about her further, go watch the series now!
The series is available on Crunchyroll in the US, Canada, and most European regions, but also on Netflix in many territories including Asia. You can also watch it on VRV if you live in the states, English dub is also available and the voice acting is just great as the original.
My score on the series: 8 out of 10, very good!
My score on Taiga: 1000000000/10!!!
Thanks for reading.
